Educational Ministires

  • Connections – This class discusses various topics in six-week segments and meets in the Parlor.
  • Koinonia – This class, for adults of all ages, uses Bible study to explore God’s word and its meaning for life application. Koinonia meets in Room 122.
  • Crusaders – This long-standing class for mature adults explores a variety of Bible study materials and meets in the upstairs Fellowship Hall.
During the week, Pastors’ Forums on Thursday nights provide opportunities for theological discussion on a variety of topics (communion, baptism, forgiveness, biblical justice, etc.). Bible studies on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00, led by one of the pastors, explore the scripture texts for the coming Sunday. On the first Thursday of every month, a lay-led Prayer and Share group meets for study, prayer, and video presentation followed by discussion. Our Wesley Seminarian convenes a Covenant Discipleship Group each week (Sunday afternoons) which focuses on active commitment in areas of compassion, worship, devotion, and justice.

Young Adults

Common Ground, a group of twenty- and thirty-somethings, meets monthly for fellowship and discussion.

Christian Women's Fellowship

Four women's groups are very active in the life of the church. The groups meet monthly for devotion and business, and provide invaluable support and service ministries throughout the year.

 Disciples Men

The men of First Christian Church are an active group! Every third Saturday at 8:00 AM the Disciples Men gather at the Old Country Buffet for good food and good company. Over breakfast, the men have devotions, listen to guest speakers, or share stories from their own lives.
The Disciples Men participate generously in church events: work days, outreach projects, and other special activities. Over the years it has become customary for the men to serve the ladies of Christian Women’s Fellowship at their annual Luncheon and Fashion Show. In turn, the women provide the men of the church a delightful annual breakfast.

The Disciples Men often provide services to members with special needs. They also participate in the activities of the Bailey’s Community Shelter, ACCA, FCS and other community organizations. All men of the church, guests and friends are welcome to participate in this group.
