Rev. Dick Brooks

Dick Brooks started attending First Christian Church, Falls Church (Disciples of Christ) as a child when it opened its doors in 1952. He has filled many positions at FCCFC including Chairman of the Board, Deacon, and Elder.

After his retirement Dick attended Wesley Theological Seminary where he received an M.Div. degree. He was ordained at First Christian Church in 2011. Dick and his wife Cathy are passionate about healing ministry. As a team they offer a prayer ministry including a monthly Healing Prayer Service every second Wednesday at 7 p.m.

In Dick’s first career he was an electrical engineer with the Federal Government with 20 years in the Senior Executive Service. He worked in several civilian agencies and the Department of Defense. He also worked in private industry and served two years in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Dick’s other degrees include a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1967, a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1973, and an MBA from VPI in 1978.

For fun Dick likes to ski and was a certified ski instructor. Also, he loves to play with his two granddaughters and visit his son and daughter-in-law.
