WELCOME!

Welcome to our website for First Christian Church, Falls Church.  I hope you will take some time to peruse the links and pages and discover the community and mission that exists at FCC!  All are welcome.  No exceptions.

Our services are held regularly at 10 AM on Sunday mornings and children ages 3-2nd grade are invited to attend children's church  following the children's message at 10:15.  All Sunday school classes meet at 9 am for every age group.  Our nursery is staffed all morning.  We also hold an informal service of scripture, prayer and communion at 8:15 am in our prayer chapel.

We have been told that we are friendly and inclusive and it is a rare Sunday when you leave our place with nothing to eat. We strive mightily to speak the language of love in bold and visibly active ways, and consider ourselves to be compassionately Christ centered.  Our congregation is of all ages, we value the individual spiritual journey and the study that such a journey requires, and we relish fresh thinking. We are a theologically diverse congregation that struggles to "do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God." (Micah 6:8).   We host a day shelter for the homeless called "Safe Haven," which feeds over 100 hungry and homeless breakfast and lunch every Tuesday (winter months) and Thursday and try and give our children the means and opportunities to grow in wisdom and stature.  Our music program is reknown, with numerous choirs and magnificent organ, organist, and musical leadership.  Here, I believe, there is a vibrant spirit and a place for thoughtful engagement, where we challenge ourselves to live more courageously.

Come see for yourself as we seek to confront the challenges of the 21st century in faith and hospitality, hope and joy.  I look forward to meeting you...

Rev. Kathleen Kline Chesson, Senior Minister
