Mark Moorman

Mark Moorman, of West Union, Iowa joined the staff in 2021. Mark is on the faculty of the Juilliard Evening Division since 2010. Mark is also on the faculty of the Old Town Music School in Alexandria, VA. Mark has been Director of Artistic Administration-Opera for the Crested Butte Music Festival. He previously worked as a pianist and vocal coach for opera workshops at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University. He was a guest music director for Theater Faction and other regional theater companies and served as a recital accompanist for tours across much of the Southeastern U.S. and Italy. Moorman served as piano instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Texas at Austin. He has been a guest lecturer at Gettysburg College and the New York City Opera. He maintains a private vocal coaching studio in New York and Virginia and is a board member of Opera Index. Moorman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and completed postgraduate studies at the Golandsky Institute in New York City. He studied piano with Howard Karp, Jack Radunsky, Aube Tzerko, Barbara Rowan, and John Bloomfield. He studied vocal accompanying with Marshall Williamson. He studied chamber music with the Tokyo String Quartet.
